I had an inner debate as I made this movie. When it comes to the trans community so many people want to see the "before" and "after" pictures. I didn't want to make a video that would play into the notion that people have a right to see "before" and "after" pictures. I also didn't want to exploit myself or other trans folks. I decided to make the video, anyways.
I don't believe that any of these pictures indicate a "before" and "after." I have always been Isaiah, even when I didn't realize it. I was merely dressing in drag for 20 years. This short video is just to show the transformations I've made in the past 22 years.
Also! Don't forget to ask me questions for my next video post!
Okay, for some reason it's trying to post me as anonymous, but this is Jenn Scott, lol.
ReplyDeleteStupid question! Do you prefer Isaiah, or is there an abbreviation that you will answer to? (Just like being called Jenny makes me crazy, I wonder if you'll be horrified at the thought of being called 'Izzy'.) Like I said, stupid question, but one I was curious about.
When do you think you will hear back regarding your candidacy for hormone therapy? And once you begin hormones, what will be the sort of protocol/timeline after that as far as potential surgeries, legal name changes, etc.?
What are your future plans? Did I hear something about a move to NY? Because serious, dude, we need to hang out before you do, lol. Later gator! ^_^
Love this video! You are such an amazing person! We are so blessed to know you and have you in our lives. Wish you could have been at the gender symposium tonight. You would have loved it!
ReplyDeleteThese may be silly questions or too personal or lame but, you said ask! :P What does your family think about your transformation? Are your adoptive parents supportive? What does feminism mean to you now? You were quite on fire for women empowerment, does this change how you view the women's movement? Will this change how people view your support of it? What is the name Parker from? Will you be identified as a straight male after you're transformed? Will you want to date straight females? Sorry, lots of questions! Thank you for being open and awesome. i love you!
ReplyDeleteGreat video! I'm honored that I was featured in it :-p and that I was a part of your journey, even though I don't think we knew it at the time :-)
ReplyDeleteAlways,

Oliver, it is strange to see isn't it? We we're both unaware, but I'm very honored to have had you in my life as my first boyfriend and now as my friend.
ReplyDeleteGetting caught up on all your videos. :) Love that picture of you, Haley, and I.
ReplyDeleteLove Always!
It is one of my favorite college pictures! Love you!
